Paintball is more International than you think

This past Thursday, a well-known paintball team from the United States - the Ironmen of California - took first place at the first international paintball tournament to be held in Iran. Yes, Iran.
An Iranian team took second and a team from the Netherlands took third.
Don’t be surprised to find out that the attendance by one of the most recognizable paintball teams in the world - the Ironmen - was fostered at least in part by the US State Department as a way to begin breaking the ice with that troublesome nation.
Why Should I Buy This Book?

Good question. The answer depends upon who you are. I have individual answers below:
For parents of children who have not yet played: paintball can be safe and it can be played relatively inexpensively. It can also be unsafe and expensive. Rather than jumping in blindly, make a small investment in your child’s future and possibly save you and your child hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Perhaps more importantly, learn what the risks are, how to avoid them and find out everything you need to know in order to make an informed, practical decision regarding the game of paintball.
For parents of children who already play: No matter how long your child has been playing, I am positive that they’ve said or done something paintball that has left you wondering. Don’t wonder - get your answers from one reliable source.
For field and store owners: A good many hours of your week are devoted to answering questions from the uninformed. Make those hours productive ones; with a small investment you can simultaneously create an informed customer and save yourself a lot of time. Educated consumers are the best consumers for businesses that run on the up-and-up. Use the book to make sure that you’ve covered everything, to help you develop concise, informative answers.
For the not-quite-an-adult paintball player: You may think you already know everything there is to know about the game, but I can tell you that isn’t true. I’ve been playing for and involved for more than 25 years and as the saying goes “I’ve got socks that have more game-time than you.” While not even I know everything there is to know about the game, chances are I’ve picked up a few things you’ve yet to find out. Or you can just use it as a sneaky way to get in good with your parents - that never hurts.

Steve Davidson, Liaison Press and Kee Action Sports are pleased to announce the up-coming publication of
A PARENT’S GUIDE TO PAINTBALL
an indispensable tool for the parents of paintballers and anyone introducing the game to the parents of prospective paintballers.
The author, Steve Davidson, has been involved with paintball for more than a quarter-century, has written two previous books, hundreds of feature articles and founded the country’s first national competition league.
“As the game has matured, the nature of the typical player has changed from adult males in their late-twenties to early-thirties to teens and young adults. I know of a lot of players today who had a hard time convincing their parents that they should be allowed to play. As a store manager and field operator I’ve listened to thousands of concerned parents and have answered tens of thousands of their questions. I’ve always sought to be truthful, informative and accurate. This book distills those tens of thousands of questions and my more than a quarter-century of experience into an easy to read, sensibly organized and comprehensive manner that will help parents make informed decisions about their children and paintball.”
A Parent’s Guide to Paintball is being distributed to the paintball industry by Kee Action Sports, the leading manufacturer and distributor serving the paintball industry.
A Parent’s Guide to Paintball is published by Liaison Press, the non-fiction imprint of Creative Guy Publishing and is available for purchase through Liaison’s website.
A Parent’s Guide to Paintball will prove to be an invaluable tool for field operators and retail store owners - either as a low-cost premium to new customers or as a stand-alone product that will not only save time but will also help increase sales.
Youth sport organizers will find A Parent’s Guide to Paintball to be an excellent aide to their operations and will help them save their organizations money.
Any parent who has ever been asked about paintball, or who’s child already plays, needs this book.
Parent’s Q&A Introduction

This category of articles will, I hope, prove to be one of the most active on the site. It is here that I will publish questions from parents as well as my (hopefully) intelligent, insightful and helpful answers.
I expect that moms and dads, youth ministers, youth sports administrators and others involved with children, paintball or both, will wish to submit questions from time to time. When they do, I encourage everyone who might have something useful to say on the subject to chime in.
If you’d like to ask a question, you can do so here by placing it in the comments section. If I believe the question and its answer(s) will be of help to others, I’ll give it its own article space within this category.
You can also submit questions by sending me an email by clicking HERE. Please put something relevant in the email subject line so I’m sure to see it. If you would like your question to remain private, please state that as well.
Cover Design Selected

The final cover design for A Parent’s Guide to Paintball has been selected.
Featuring a mother and child, I think the photo says just about all there is to say about parents and paintballers - at least the way we’d like to see it. Mom encouraging her son and her son barely listening because he’s so intent on the up-coming game.
I’m very pleased with the work that Kee Action Sport’s graphics department did on the cover. My original was a half-way decent montage of photos of kids playing along with some parents in the background (I’m the writer guy, not the graphics guy!) and it would have served well enough, but this cover is an eye-grabber!
Kee’s folks sent along three other layouts; my orginal favorite was one of the others, but both my wife Karen and Pete, the editor, set me straight. Maybe when we get down the road a little bit I’ll share the others with you all.
