Chapter 10
PAINTBALL AS MOTIVATOR
USING PAINTBALL AS AN INCENTIVE
Since time immemorial, parents have sought ways to encourage, entice, interest, bribe and force their children to behave in the desired manner, apply themselves to work and study, strive to better themselves, embrace the same values that their parents believe in, and to generally do for themselves what needs to be done in order to live a healthy, happy and successful life. In other words, get them out of the house with the wherewithal to be able to fend for themselves.
While there are numerous schools of thought on the proper way to go about doing this (and we won’t endorse any particular form of child-rearing here), a few hard and fast rules apply to them all.
First, being involved directly with your child and their activities. Everyone laments the good old days of the stay-at-home mom (or dad, a relatively recent innovation) – not because they want to return to the politically incorrect days of male chauvinism, but because it provided children with at least one parent who was immediately on hand to reinforce lessons and values.

This chapter is basically parenting 101 as applied to paintball. Vinegar and honey. I simply point out the common-sense application of a favorite activity to encouraging the behavior and performance that is desired.
