G.

Gas Efficiency: Usually refers to how much/little pressurized gas is used to operate a marker and fire a paintball

Gogged: Getting shot in the goggles (usually referring to the humiliation associated with such a shot)

Going Liquid: Liquid CO2 enters the valve chamber and raises the velocity of the marker.

Grip, Grip Frame: The trigger frame portion of a paintball gun

Guppy: An archaic term for a loader or pod, originally a trade name

H.

Harness: Archaic term for a butt pack – load-bearing gear was originally a chest harness.

Hickey, sucker mark, red tattoo: The welt caused by a paintball impact

Hit: A paintball breaking on a player

Home Base: An inflatable bunker that resembles a home base in profile (a pentagonal bunker)

Hopper: Most commonly refers to a loader, this is also used to refer to a feed system.

Hoser: A player who indiscriminately fires their marker

Hosing: The act of firing large volumes of paint

Hosed (get hosed, got hosed, getting hosed): A player who was eliminated either by a large number of hits, or a player eliminated in a spectacular fashion

Hot (shooting hot): A marker that is firing over the legal velocity limit; a marker that shot over the limit due to a malfunction or improper set-up

HPA: Acronym for High Pressure Air, this is generally used to refer to a pressure tank used with a paintball gun. (Synonymous with Compressed Air and Nitrogen)

Hydro, Hydro Date, Hydrostatic Test: Refers to the act or requirement of obtaining a pressure test for high- pressure tanks

I.

Inflatable: A large vinyl shape used as a bunker on a paintball field

J.

Jimmy: A trade name utilizing a slang term for condom and designating a Barrel Condom

K.

Kill: The elimination of an opponent

Kill Count: The total number of opponents eliminated

Kill Code: A code word used by a team to announce eliminations of opponents and losses of teammates during a game

Knuckle: A portion of a snake bunker that protrudes from the bunker

L.

Laning: The act of firing down an alley on a field to keep opponents from moving

Laydown: A low bunker (usually cylindrical) that only provides protection if players are lying down behind it

Lit Up, Lite Up: A  player who received multiple hits while being eliminated

Loader: A magazine device for a paintball gun

Longball: The act of shooting (accurately) at extreme ranges

LPR, Low Pressure Regulator: Used in paintball guns to lower the input pressure of gasses that operate internal mechanisms

M.

Marker: Politically-correct name for a paintball gun

Muzzle Velocity: The speed at which a paintball is traveling immediately upon exiting the barrel
