Valve: The device inside a marker allowing pressurized gas to flow from the source down the marker barrel.

Velocity Adjuster: Usually found at the rear of a marker, this device adjusts the marker’s muzzle velocity.

Venturi (bolt): Refers to an arrangement of shaped or angled gas ports in the face of a gun bolt. It is believed by many that special configurations of gas ports can help increase accuracy, gas efficiency and/or range.

W.

Walk On: A player not connected with a team who shows up at a field to play, or a recreational player

Wannabe: A player with no skill who adopts the equipment, clothing and language of one who does

Wipe, Wiping: The act of removing a valid hit during a paintball game in order to remain in the game

Woodsball: A semi-derogatory term used to describe paintball play on natural terrain – usually referring to scenario games – which originally referred to any play in the woods
